About The Role

At RAC, we’re on an exciting digital transformation journey, evolving how millions of customers interact with us and using AI, machine learning and automation to create smarter, faster and more personalised experiences.

We’re looking for a Senior Digital Product Manager with real technical depth. This isn’t purely a product strategy role. We need someone who loves building digital products and has the technical capability to work confidently alongside engineers, architects and data scientists.

You might come from a Computer Science, Mathematics or Engineering background, or have developed equivalent technical expertise through your career. Either way, you’ll understand how modern digital products are built and be comfortable discussing APIs, integrations, architecture, data and AI, while keeping customer and commercial outcomes firmly at the centre.

This is an opportunity to own a substantial product area, influence our digital strategy and deliver products that make a real difference to millions of customers.

What you'll be doing

You’ll own the strategy and end-to-end lifecycle for a significant digital product area, from discovery and technical exploration through to delivery, launch and optimisation.

With AI and machine learning increasingly embedded across our customer journey, you’ll work at the intersection of emerging technology and genuine customer need, helping turn opportunities into scalable products that deliver measurable customer and commercial value.

Key responsibilities

  • Define product strategy, vision and roadmaps, setting clear customer and commercial outcomes and measuring success against agreed KPIs.
  • Lead product and technical discovery, validating opportunities and translating complex problems into clear product requirements and priorities.
  • Partner with engineers, architects and data scientists on technical decisions, including architecture trade-offs, APIs, integrations and build-versus-buy choices.
  • Write clear technical requirements and acceptance criteria, contributing to prototyping, data analysis and system design discussions.
  • Shape AI and ML-enabled products, defining success metrics, data requirements, model evaluation criteria and appropriate fallback behaviours.
  • Champion responsible AI, considering bias, human-in-the-loop design, monitoring and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead cross-functional squads to build and continuously improve digital products, using experimentation, customer insight, analytics and performance data.
  • Influence across the organisation, aligning technology, commercial, operational and regulatory stakeholders around product direction.

What we're looking for

We’re looking for someone who combines strong product leadership with genuine technical credibility.

  • A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or another quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical technical experience.
  • Significant experience building and owning complex digital products across the full product lifecycle with measurable customer and commercial outcomes.
  • Strong technical fluency, with the confidence to discuss APIs, integrations, architecture, data flows and technical trade-offs with engineers.
  • Hands-on exposure to software development or coding, gained through your career, studies or significant projects.
  • A practical understanding of AI and machine learning, including how AI-enabled products are designed, evaluated, deployed and monitored, with an understanding of LLMs and emerging AI capabilities.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical capability, with familiarity with SQL, statistics, experimentation/A/B testing and product or model performance metrics.
  • Excellent product management expertise across discovery, strategy, prioritisation, roadmaps and agile delivery.
  • The judgement to balance customer, technical, commercial and regulatory considerations, including knowing when AI is, and isn't, the right solution.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at a senior level and translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
