About The Role

Join the RAC as a Senior Social Media Content Designer and bring our brand to life across social.

Working within our Social Media team, you’ll create engaging, platform-native content across organic and paid social, bringing ideas to life through video, motion, design, imagery and copy. You’ll take briefs from initial concept through to finished creative, including filming and editing content, adapting assets and developing ideas that make audiences stop scrolling.

This is a hands-on creative role for someone who understands social, has strong design and video skills, and can hit the ground running. Alongside creating content yourself, you’ll line manage and develop junior Social Media Content Designers, collaborate with teams across the RAC and use trends and performance insight to continually improve what we create.

What you’ll do

  • Create engaging social-first content across video, motion, design, imagery and copy
  • Take creative briefs from initial idea and brainstorming through to production and delivery
  • Film and edit short-form video content, using the right approach for the channel, including mobile-first creation
  • Develop strong visual concepts and creative treatments that bring campaigns and briefs to life
  • Create and adapt content for organic social, paid campaigns, YouTube Shorts and emerging platforms
  • Balance campaign activity with always-on social content and changing business priorities
  • Line manage and develop junior Social Media Content Designers, providing creative direction, feedback and support while helping prioritise workloads and maintain high-quality output
  • Work with stakeholders across the RAC to turn different briefs and objectives into compelling social content
  • Contribute ideas and content to the wider social media calendar
  • Use performance data, testing and platform trends to improve future creative
  • Ensure content is on-brand, audience-focused and meets relevant approval and compliance requirements

What you’ll need

  • Strong experience creating social content within an agency, in-house creative team or freelance environment
  • A portfolio demonstrating social-first design, video and motion content
  • Strong design, layout, typography and motion design skills, with experience using the Adobe Suite
  • Hands-on filming and video editing experience, including creating effective content for mobile and social platforms using tools such as CapCut
  • Experience taking creative briefs from concept through to finished content
  • Strong understanding of organic and paid social and how creative requirements differ across platforms
  • Confidence developing creative ideas and translating briefs into strong visual identities
  • Experience line managing, mentoring or developing other creatives, with the confidence to provide clear direction and constructive feedback
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present ideas and respond constructively to feedback
  • Good understanding of social trends, formats and what makes content perform
  • A proactive, self-starting approach with the confidence to take ownership and deliver at pace
